Dark ruby color with garnet highlights. Aromas of dark berry fruit, eucalyptus, garrigue and dried tobacco. Flavors of blackberry, black plum, roasted herbs and coffee. Not that well versed in sake, but this has to rank up there with the best ones I’ve ever had. Beautifully floral nose followed by a rich, silky smooth palate with a lingering finish, this was a perfect complement to a great dinner from Maru, the best Japanese restaurant in the area.
