Stunning example of how to handle Viognier in Virginia. Matthieu! Par excellence - the mouth… The balance between oak and acid was glorious! at just four years from vintage, amazing quality, and so beautiful with the food. — 9 months ago
This is great. I was expecting fire and jam, but got a lovely nose with purple plums, black pepper, a bit of jalapeño berry jam, baking spice, and good acidity. For the price, fantastic. For a funny label wine, maybe the best I’ve had. Would love to see this in a blind tasting. — 3 months ago
Super quaffable #pinotgris - apple, white peach aromas, weighty palate with lots of acidity, green apple, peach, goes down too easy. Great QPR for under $8 #costcowines — 7 months ago
The 2022 Pinot Noir opens with a mentholated freshness, mixing wild berries and sage. It’s juicy and round, with vividly ripe red and blue fruits swirling throughout. The 2022 leaves youthful tension with the mouth watering for more as hints of licorice fade. $16.00 (Eric Guido, Vinous, January 2024) — 10 months ago
Solid effort from a classic, even tempered vintage…this likely spent approx 8 mon in barrel, and the downward slope is evident of less tannic input. Nevertheless, and a nice stewed red fruit core is delish as a sipper or with lighter proteins. Acids have waned a bit to far for serious food cleanup. Our house made Thai coconut beef curry soup was even a little too much, but it still was delicious to have in between long bites and afterwords with Keylime pie. This is my aging/cellar project… Learn how vintages and terroir match with winemaking and longevity. Lesson learned here… as the 2010 is the benchmark of a plus Merlot from the Monticello AVA. The 2010 is twice the wine that this is… Emphasizing the quality of the vintage vis-à-vis 2012 — 3 years ago
Touring Oregon for the first time in a long while, and of course chasing value. This 25 Dollar Willamette Pinot is really nice. Found it based on local recommendation. Layers of cherry and other bright red fruits, good acidity. Long finish. Bandon is a really nice stop on the Oregon coast, too. — 4 months ago
The “King of Chardonnay” Mike Grgich farms w/o pesticides and certified organic. Aged 10 months, no MLF. Medium lemon color with aromas of stone & citrus fruits. On the palate flavors of apple, pear & lemon citrus flavors, with honeysuckle, vanilla & toasty oak notes. Nice balance with acidity on long finish with a toasty mineral ending. Not your typical CA Chard, very nice! Consistent. — 8 months ago
