Gran Reserva Rioja Alavesa Tempranillo 2004

Might be a bit past its prime but still quite good. Light ruby color with a brick rim. Aromas and flavors of dark cherry, rose petals, dark chocolate, leather, tobacco and dried herbs. Smooth and dusty tannins. Brimming with acidity. Extremely complex, but maybe just a touch out of balance. Still a pleasure. Thank You John P. — 3 years ago

Bodega Santa Julia

Reserva Mountain Blend Valle de Uco Malbec Cabernet Franc 2020

Deep purple in color, almost black; blackberries, black plums, and black pepper on the nose; medium plus acidity; medium plus tannins; tastes like blueberries, cherries, eucalyptus, and wet slate with long finish. I like this wine. It improved with about 30 minutes in the glass. Nellie says it's not bad. — 6 months ago
