Sauternes Sémillon-Sauvignon Blanc Blend 1955

From a 750mL bottle. Popped and poured; opened with the assistance of a Durand and enjoyed over the course of a few hours. The 1955 pours a deep bronze color with a golden rim and a transparent core; high viscosity. On the nose, the wine is vinous with fascinating notes of wild flowers, nuts, dried apricots, dates, peach cobbler and baking spices. On the palate, the wine is sweet with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and not at all cloying. What beauty and balance! This is still so full of life…wild! A huge surprise as I have no information on this producer.
