Two cool varietals. I havent had St Laurent or Monteuse in ages. The plan? Create two separate, single varietal wines from these grapes. But when they were finished fermenting, they had a little leftover of each so they put them together in a barrel. When they tasted the resulting blend, they realized that the combination was better than either alone.
This is a full bodied and intense wine with rustic red fruit, good herb and spice, and high tanninic structure. Savory and dry. So unique. — 3 years ago

Super crushable Pinot with a great red fruit, and some sour / funk — 6 years ago
Fell in love with the label and then the wine! Interesting grapes for an Oregon pour. Starts tart berry and ends with a bit of mystery. I can't quite identify it but I can say I enjoyed it. — 6 months ago
Johan Reyneke’s Cornerstone blend is a match for many a decent Bordeaux, and in the 2018 vintage is particularly good. Replete with classical aromas of cassis, pencil shavings and cedar, the palate follows with great elegance, structure and a chalky, long finish. If anything, I’d prefer a little more savoury character as this tends towards sweetness (but not over-extraction), but it’s young right now! It’s extraordinary how inexpensive this wine is - it would knock the socks of some Bordeaux Crus Classés in a blind tasting. — 3 years ago
On the nose — 3 years ago
Damn. I am all about this wine tonight. Cherry and raspberry notes on both the nose and palate. Beautiful pinot coloring in the glass and a glorious finish. I will definitely be seeking this one out again. Highly recommended! 75% Pinot Noir, 20% Pinot Meunier, 5% Pinot Gris. 5/1/22. — 4 years ago
Peppered spice and cheesy umami overlaying funky fruit. — 5 years ago

So so much depth to this! Great tannins, some bright fruit and yet crisp. — 3 years ago
Skin contact from Oregon, blend of Italian grapes, almost pink in color. Great with or without food. — 3 years ago
Sunshine and tropical fruit just lovely — 4 years ago
Best domestic orange wine I’ve ever had. On the nose, almost Pinot noir-like with earth and dark cherries. In the mouth, the lightness of a white, with the tannin and mouthfeel of a red - a bit of dark fruit and cracked pepper. Excellent minerality. Good acid. Medium-long finish. — 5 years ago
Mmm I smell the antediluvian savoir faire of Burgundy and taste the volcanic rich essence of the Willamette Valley in this old world style Pinot Noir. Tobacco, cedar, black plum and black cherry, even a slight hint of vanilla infiltrate the nose and gloss over the palate wi th the addition of black pepper and black licorice on the finish. Truly exceptional pinot noir!!! — 6 years ago
