Duckhorn Vineyards

Three Palms Vineyard Merlot 2017

Welcome to the weekend! Looks to be a wonderful weekend and lets try to enjoy it. This afternoon I have opened for a close friend of mine the 2017 Duckhorn Vineyards Three Palm Vineyard Merlot. The blend is 91% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Malbec, 1% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot.

On the nose there is black cherry, plum, raspberry, bay leaf, herbs, spice, violet and cedar.

The palate is beautiful complex fruit of black cherry, strawberry, plum, fig, chocolate, clove, vanilla, graphite and stoney slate.

This wine is full bodiedwith a velvety mouthfeel, medium + acidity and medium + to high medium grained tannins with a long dark fruit tannic finish. What a beautiful wine this is and what a way to start the weekend off. Have a great weekend and please be safe and stay healthy. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

Anderson Valley Pinot Noir 2006

Nose has over-ripe plum, black cherry reduction sauce, faint cinnamon stick, wood bark, dark chocolate powder and faint baking spice.

Palate has over-ripe black cherry coated in dark chocolate, (light) moist earthy soil and wet cedar shavings. Light acidity persists!

A great Tuesday night bottle and far, far better than our last bottle about six weeks prior. Bottle variation to our favor tonight. 👍👍

Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2018

Aged in 40% new French oak. Pale to medium ruby-purple, the nose offers dark berry fruits, smoky cedar notes and spicy touches of forest floor. On the palate flavors of boysenberry, blackberry, and crushed red cherries with notes of cedar and spice, lively acidity, fine tannins, long finish ending with fruit and earthy notes. — 24 days ago

Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc 2019

Beginning of the week and lets start it off with the 2019 Duckhorn Vineyards Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc.

On the nose there is lime, peach, green apple, tropical fruit, melon and nice minerality.

On the palate I am getting lime, nectarine, lychee, melon, bees wax and a good mineral note.

This wine is medium bodied with a soft mouthfeel, medium to medium + acidity and medium to medium long fresh citrus finish. I hope everyone had a wonderful week and the week ahead looks promising. Please stay healthy and safe and make the week an eventful one. Nostrovia! 🥂🥂🥂🥂

Goldeneye (Duckhorn Vineyards)

Anderson Valley Pinot Noir 2017

Got this on super sale for $22. Wouldn’t have paid $50 retail on this. Notes of raspberry, cranberry, roasted strawberry, red plum, violets, cedar, baking spices, crushed stone and sweet tobacco. I can appreciate the style of this wine, and it is pretty complex, but the alcohol is definitely present and was a bit harsh on that attack. Medium acid, medium tannin, medium plus body and medium plus complexity. Cheers. — 24 days ago
