Cider-like lychee joy. Juicy grape bubblegum on the nose, with a bright, drier-than-expected mineral touch. Excellent. No. 318. — 6 years ago
Established in 2007, Orchards Fold Vineyard sits comfortably at a 590 ft elevation, and is planted with Riesling Geisenheim clones 110, 239, and 198. White peaches underpin gossamer, feminine notes of white hand soap and orange blossom. It glides across the palate, bolstered by a deeper, more turbulent currant of acidity and white grapefruit until at least, it tapirs to a long, protracted finish. 12.0% ABV | Sample — 9 years ago
There are some times when the only thing that will suffice is one of the world’s greatest Rieslings. Klaus-Peter Keller @kellerdalsheim is, in my mind, the undisputed master of the Rheinhessen region of Germany. The Keller family has been making wine for 10 generations, and the oldest parcel of Riesling they have has been handed down within the family since 1789. Keller, who apprenticed in Burgundy before studying enology at Geisenheim told me that he looks for “playful elegance” in wine. He wants it to dance on the palate. And I’ve never had a bottle of his wine that hasn’t made ME want to dance. This one marries lemon pith and lemon oil with Asian pear and mandarine orange peel. But all of these flavors are perceived through a quartz-like minerality that evokes the feeling of licking an icicle or exploring a glacial cave. Stunning clarity and incredible acidity makes for a profound glass of mostly-dry Riesling. — 3 years ago

2021 vintage. 100 % Riesling, Geisenheim clone 21B.
Bright green and pale gold colour.
Ripe white peach lime leaf, floral and hone on the nose with a touch of petrol.
Crisp apple, lime peel, ripe apricot and stone fruit with white honey.
Racy acidity with subtle hints of minerality. A combination of smooth finish with mouth watering ability creating a well balanced Riesling.
Spicy prawns with Sambal Oelek on tha BBQ were fantastic with this wine.
