Excellent. Fruity explosion at BOKA in Chicago — 25 days ago
In a lovely spot right now, the single-vineyard 2019 Calvarino from Soave icon Pieropan is a gorgeous, pithy, inviting example of what the region has to offer. It benefits from time out of the fridge, when floral aromas of bitter orange, thyme, honey and lemon emerge. It strikes a beautiful balance on the palate between its bitter, acidic character and flecks of sweetness – like a great lemon tart, if that isn’t too crude. It might not be the most complex white wine out there, but it more than makes up for it in sheer drinking pleasure. Best enjoyed on a sunny day with a pasta al limone.

2023 vintage.
To say this is entry level Soave would do it no justice.
Garanega grapes from 30 year old vines grown in Basaltic volcanic soil. 100 % stainless steel production.
Shiny green gold in colour.
Mineral driven with notes of wild yellow flowers, golden apples, marzipan and almonds.
Crisp acidity on the finish.
This wine begs for scallops regardless how you prepare them. — 22 days ago
tanines and a soft sweet brilliant after taste — 22 days ago
Classic amarone: Prunes, figs, raisins, dark chocolate notes with great firm tannins but still fresh and acidity. Brighter than other years but definitely a tasty wine that pairs well with steak or certain desserts. Definitely will try other vintages. — 16 days ago
Had with mom on her bday. Liked it a lot. Very smooth. Probably from Costco $25 — 8 days ago
