This is one of the wines that has made Allegrini famous, vineyard surrounds Villa della Torre. A blend of 40% Corvina Veronese, 30% Corvinone, 25% Rondinella & 5% Sangiovese, deep Ruby with aromas of dried berry fruit and earthy pepper spice. Palate full of dried blackberry and blueberry flavors with cinnamon and leathery notes, good balance, lively acid and chewy tannins. Medium finish ending with fruit and sweet spice. Nice value. Ripasso Valpolicella Classico Superiore Corvina Blend 2010

Drinking a 2010 vintage in December 2019 and this wine is still drinking quite well and it could be argued that it’s at or near it’s peak. Excellent nose, beautiful color and lasting finish. Pairs well with red meats, stews, soups, cheeses and breads. Also roasted pork dishes that are more flavorful. Glad I bought a case and cellared it for several years. — 12 days ago
