Very similar to the Forager - which makes sense given same winemaker and natural ferment. Really racy and full of life. Tight at first but opened up beautifully to show round, spicy fruit with some salinity, forest, and floral notes. Good grip giving long finish. Age worthy. — 8 years ago
White stone fruit, apricot, and lemon on the nose. The apricot pops on the palate, with a bit of green pear underneath. Clean mineral notes play nicely with the lemon citrus acidity. Finish leaves you wanting more. Well balanced with enough subtlety to show a burgeoning elegance. Not sure if I’ve had a Willamette Chard before, but if this wine is any indication it’s worth seeking out more. — 4 years ago
Excellent. Dry and crisp. — 7 years ago
Hats off Dom Maxwell. Dark ruby. Tight to start but evolved considerably. Very expressive nose combing umami, undergrowth, and spicy plumb notes. Funk, spice and dark forest fruit, Perfect weight - the transition from mid palate to the finish is seamless. Quite burgundian to my palate. Total harmony. Awesome. — 8 years ago
Yummy gatta love a good blend — 4 years ago
Complex Willamette PN. Great blend of Old World and New. Plenty of earthy/mushroom forest floor that gives depth and heft, but it’s balanced by bright cherry and cola notes. Some vanilla sweetness in there too. Excellent with pan fried salmon and wild rice. This one will be worth revisiting. — 5 years ago
Damn fine California Cab, and a deal at $36 in the restaurant. Classic cab body, super drinkable start, with an evolving finish that has hints if blackberry and... vanilla? Wonderful. — 7 years ago
Yes it's heavy it better be that's what the damn "consumers" want. Butter on word on tropical notes — 8 years ago
Jamie Lauder
2015 vintage from magnum.
Bright ruby colour.
Perfumed nose with cherry, plums and dark flowers.
Smooth and savoury with medium acidity, red fruits, earthy, herbs and well developed rounded tannins.
This wine is food friendly.
I got a kilo of local Matsutake mushrooms from a forager friend and made risotto.
