Equipo Navazos

Navazos-Niepoort Vino Blanco 2015

Unfortified flor-aged 100% Palomino by Dirk Niepoort & Equipo Navazos, sourced from the historic Macharnudo vineyard in Jerez. Fermented in old, 600-liter oak casks with indigenous yeasts and aged for 12 months under flor. Oxidative nose with hints hay and pineapple. Light, mineral, precise and bone dry on the mouth, with nice saltiness and a long, somewhat bitter finish. — 2 months ago

La Escribana Vino de Pasto Palomino Fino 2018

This is beautiful, unfortified Palomino from Pago Macharnudo in Jerez. Aged with flor in neutral barrel for a year. Citrus, pineapple, dried flowers, seashells, and chalk. Full bodied. Incredibly unique. Boquerones would be a perfect match. Luis Perez has crafted an awesome wine. — 2 months ago

Interpretation Paso Robles Tempranillo 2017

I had no idea what to expect with this Tempranillo, but it is delicious. It is deep and rich with notes of cherries, dark-chocolate-covered caramels with a hint of lightly smoked sea salt. Bigger and more complex than Flor de Pingus, in my opinion. @Connor McMahon and @Rebecca McMahon are doing amazing work — 3 months ago

@Paul T- Huntington Beach Glad I don't live north of the border. Is the smoke tainting your open wines yet?

Dominio de Pingus

Flor de Pingus Ribera del Duero Tempranillo 2017

Produced by Peter Sisseck, of Denmark, arrived in Spain in 1993 to manage a new project and thought about the old vines around the Ribera del Duero. By the 1995 vintage, Peter had found ancient vineyards that inspired him to make "Pingus," after childhood nickname. Deep Ruby, concentrated dark fruit aromas with gently smoky notes. On the palate cherry and plum flavors, sweet vanilla spice, well balanced, soft warming tannins, long ending with slight oaky tones. Very Nice! — a month ago

Flor de Campo Santa Barbara County Pinot Noir 2015

Has a jammy fragrance with notes of spice, pepper and slight vanilla.
Drinks well with flavors of dark cherry/berry, spices and a bit of earthiness/leather. Finishes semi-smoothly with lingering jam and vanilla on the palate.
Great for being on sale at Costco for like $8-$9/bottle.
