Fresh cut cold apples, elderflower, the aroma of sweetness you might get from a lush glen on a hike, lavender.
Dry Reisling has become one of my favorite varietals because of this bottle that I first had a Michelin Guide restaurant in TriBeCa, called Little Park.
All the wine stores that listed carrying this wine, no longer had it. I finally tracked down the last 7 bottles in a small shop off Bedford Ave in Brooklyn. Of course, you can order the vintage online, but the adventure in the find was worth it.
Like silk, it wraps your whole mouth in a pashmina of well balanced flavor. Dry, sweet, savory, umami.
One of my favorites this summer. Hard to forget. — 5 years ago
The best pinot noir in my shop. Okay Finger Lakes, you officially have my full attention. — 10 years ago
Honey, oranges, mangoes, peaches. All the tropicals.
Ah man, Bloomer Creek just makes me happy. Every time I see their bottles at a retailer, I pretty much have to cop it. Today it was from Frankly Wines in TriBeCa.
Great selection and knowledge at this shop.
A little character in this one, reminding me a bit of an orange wine. Dry and got a nice minerality, but also a honeycomb sweetness and finally a bit of a zing (kind of like the herby citrusy crossover that pine needles have). I went on a guided hike in the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Biologist guide pointed out all the things we could eat in the forest. And we did. No one got sick. My dad told long, unnecessary stories to the other troop members. Ah, simpler times.
This is a glass where you close your eyes, everything else melts away, and you enjoy the simplicity, the balance, the crisp sips. — 4 years ago
My experience with Finger Lakes Resiling is that it is either to sweet or the decent offerings are more expensive than better Alsace and German wines so why bother. Not so with this bottle, enjoyed it so much I bought out the stock of my local shop. Honeyed fruit flavors and smokey petrol jump on the nose and continue on the pallet, once the smoke clears it gives way to delicate orange blossom, apricot, and herbal notes. Bright acidity in is very well balanced against the sweetness and fruit. Long viscous finish. Really great. Wouldn't normally age value Resiling or NY Resiling at that, but this strikes me as very ageable. Excited to revisit. — 7 years ago
Nicely balanced Pinot noir - pairs really well with a set of Pinot noir chocolates they sell in the gift shop. That brings out the cherry and fruity notes of the wine. — 12 years ago
👃 Florist shop, lilac, freshly cracked black pepper, black raisin, blackberry, black cherry; 👅 Under-ripe blackberry, ripe black cherry, fresh fig, prune; Soft tannins and drinking great, really developing in the glass.
Corked pulled for slow oxygenation ~6H.
Paired with a slow roasted beef roast from our favorite local farm (Kinderhook Farm; Valatie, NY). — 4 years ago
A nice surprise from the local Rochacha wine shop — 6 years ago
Oak and apple flavors hit when you first taste this, along with oak, vanilla and a little butter in the nose. It has moderate green apple and citrus acidity and a little oxidation at first. As it airs it picks up a nutty note and some stony minerality comes out too. With a little more time a toasty almost molasses flavor comes up. As it gets progressively more oxidized it goes to a simpler citrus-apple flavor. This is probably a little too old, but still interesting. This vineyard sells a lot of long cellared bottles at its shop, not otherwise likely to be available, giving a chance to try some things just to see how they are. It's well worth a visit. — 8 years ago

Soft lovely notes with floral and light citrus elements. Reminds me of a French Chardonnay. Aged in oak but only briefly so it doesn’t over power the taste. — 5 days ago
