Oak and apple flavors hit when you first taste this, along with oak, vanilla and a little butter in the nose. It has moderate green apple and citrus acidity and a little oxidation at first. As it airs it picks up a nutty note and some stony minerality comes out too. With a little more time a toasty almost molasses flavor comes up. As it gets progressively more oxidized it goes to a simpler citrus-apple flavor. This is probably a little too old, but still interesting. This vineyard sells a lot of long cellared bottles at its shop, not otherwise likely to be available, giving a chance to try some things just to see how they are. It's well worth a visit.
