Nose of tart fruit and spice which shows up in the palate as well. Silky tannins that take a little time to build up. Easy to drink for a medium bodied red. It's holding up well to hearty spicy chilli, and the spice of the food is letting the fruit show more through the spice notes of the wine. What a playful, lively burgundy pinot! Rose petals and cherry, hay and an earthy thing. Quite inviting. The palate is wonderfully made, a strong acid drive, a silky mouthfeel which leaves a layer of tenderness on the sides and which lasts for ever, even after the fruity notes of the finish fade away, a good mater with great balance, a good, powerful mid palate with a power house of a fruit and gentle tannins that help this silky layer expand for ever. This is a serious burgundy Pinot, and I'd like to have that every time I pop up a bottle from these parts. Organic wine. It raised to challenge of a spicy (hot hot Trinidad scorpion hot) dish which is not usually a burgundy thing. — 5 years ago

Would never have thought my 1000th tasting note (and 337 regions) would be a rum from Trinidad and Tobago. Quite pale for a rum with minerally caramel molasses notes. This wine is dark and savory. The black fruit comes along with cedar, vanilla and a chalky earth tone. Nothing like Napa Cabernet Sauvignon, but more in line with Paso Robles. Lots of South American minerals having a bit of roughhouse here. — 6 years ago
