Had this wine while traveling in Argentina. Easy to drink. We all enjoyed this with our dinner - went well with both steak and pasta dishes. Would be good without food. — a year ago

Apartado Gran Chardonnay 2018

Delectable Wine
9.4

The 2018 Chardonnay Apartado Gran is made from grapes from Gualtallary and El Cepillo in the Uco Valley and was aged for 12 months in 50% new oak. Golden yellow in the glass. The initially shy nose is dominated by the aging process, offering hazelnuts and yeast before opening up into fine layers of apple and ginger cookie over a bed of butter and oak. Broad and creamy on the palate with mild concentration; vibrant freshness provides a counterpoint. The oak returns during the persistent finish, accompanied by notes of vanilla and yeast. Doña Bernarda Colchagua Valley Red Blend 2013

This is a very nice wine. It’s quite heavy in appearance and flavour, plenty of spice and pepper but a good amount of sweet fruit on the palate. There is also a rubbery, diesel element which is more shiraz in style, but it all works and makes for an enjoyable Chilean experience. Long, rich finish. — 4 years ago
