Finally getting around to posting wines from my annual Napa trip from two weeks ago. Always goes by quick! Lots of fun new stops this year.
The Fantesca property on Spring Mtn is gorgeous, and their tasting room at the winery is stunning. Really enjoyed getting to try more of their wines.
Our visit ended with our wonderful hostess giving us a bottle of champagne to take to dinner. A very enjoyable and easy drinking rosé that has a little bit of all your looking for...strawberries, gummy red fruits, chalk, limestone, toasted scone with black cherry spread a touch of sweetness toward the finish. A perfect pairing with Bistro Jeanty’s puff pastry topped tomato soup! One of our favorite restaurants in the valley! — 5 years ago
This is the Diamond Mountain cab from Constant Vineyard. Made by Tony Arcudi (Fantesca, arcudi, kapcsandy). Kirk venge has made the wines from 2013 on. This is a dense mountain wine with floral and earthy notes. It has an elegance to it. Very nice 2 hrs in. — 6 years ago

Creamy texture gives a silky mouthfeel to this wine. There is a good balance between crisp acidity and ripe fruit character with lemon, green apple, peach, mango and floral blossom notes on the nose and palate. It’s full bodied and almost rich in character but a lovely smoke and crushed stone quality on the long finish makes for a clean impression. Not for delicate foods, but beautiful with grilled white fish and roast chicken. — 4 years ago
We met Tony Arcudi at Fantesca another wine that he and Heidi Barrett make/consult. Actually, Heidi was there and it was the first time I’ve bumped into her.
The nose reveals; beautiful perfume blue & purple fruits, blackberries, blueberries, boysenberries, plum, creamy black raspberries, black licorice, soft soils & clay, limestone, violets, blue florals, black pepper, saddle-wood, leather, graphite, light dark spice, and fresh lavender & withering dark perfume florals.
The full body is rich, lush & gorgeous. The structure, tension, length and balance & are in harmony. The wine is seamless. Beautiful perfume blue & purple fruits, blackberries, blueberries, boysenberries, plum, creamy black raspberries, black licorice, soft soils & clay, limestone, dry crushed rocks, violets, blue florals, black light pepper, saddle-wood, leather, graphite, light dark spice, and fresh lavender & withering dark perfume florals. The round acidity is like a waterfall. The ripe, rich, well balanced finish is beautiful and lasts a couple minutes. Tony was a rising star and now has certainly arrived.

This is really good in the rich fruit and palatability way. -But over blown. Reminds me of Heidi Barrett’s Fantesca Pinot. Tastes as if it were made in Napa. Blueberry, boysenberry, mixed red fruit, rich. Medium/medium+ bodied. Lots of vanilla. Very enjoyable, but should be in some other category than Pinot. — 4 years ago

Wine was outstanding with notes of dark berries, spice, and oak, with a smooth finish. — 7 months ago
