Superb example of a wonderful St Julien. 100pt 2009 is outstanding. Opened up nicely after about an hour. Wish I had more bottles left in the cellar. Balanced flavor that is complex and presents itself well softly and slowly. Great wine. — 8 years ago

A great obscure Merlot from duck horn. Enjoyed it after an hour or two of breathing with a prime fillet. Hints of cherries but much more complex and not fruit in your face. Earthy feel with a smooth finish. First time I have enjoyed rector creek. Rank it up there with candlestick vineyard from duck horn. — 7 years ago

Incredible wine. Bought a case while visiting Spain. Has aged incredibly well. Let aerate go a few hours and it just keeps getting better. Great earth tones with gentle fruit. Had a chance to visit the cellar where the only remaining bottles are kept. Will enjoy each bottle we have left. Cheers. — 8 years ago

Unbelievable 100 or wine. Very complex with a soft finish. Opens up after an hour or so. Have a case and can't wait to drink in 10 or 20. Berries with hint of cranberry with soft tannins — 9 years ago

Just had my next to last bottle of the 08. Wow. Very nice aging. Opened up after about 2 hours. Paired well with some 4yr cheddar and a seasoned prime chop. Fruit is complex and varies as the wine breathes. Great wine from one of the best makers. Hint. Try her work wth Fantesca as well. Also a great creation. Cheers!! — 7 years ago

Great every day drinking wine. Finished several bottles of 2012 and 2013 so far. Excellent finish once it opens up. Great blend and stands up to any table wine. Not sure about some of the pesky comments but you can't please everyone. All in all an excellent utility wine. — 8 years ago

Great complex wine. Mild finish right out of the bottle. Hints of cherry and cranberries. Opens up nicely and drinks like a 5 to 10 year old wine. Was very pleased paired with a bone in rib eye. Have 5 more bottles for next twenty years. — 9 years ago
