Delicious in remembrance of my sister. Goes down so smooth in mourning. RIP Alice Ellis. — 5 years ago
Nose has bright red cherry, ripe tart cherry, tree bark/vine stems, ripe plum, semi-moist soil, moist chalk and mashed black cherry.
Palate has over-ripe cherry, dried tart cherry, dried cranberry, smoked anise, moss, dried blackberry, bright acidity, beautifully earthy textures and slightly drying finish. Delicious.
An interesting tasting experience, Meursault is only planted to about 4-5% Pinot Noir, so finding one is a challenge to say the least.
Decanted 3 hours, still needs more time in bottle and decanter. I'd love to see this in 5-6 years, unfortunately our only bottle.

I’m not such a #pinotage fan but #neilellis is a great producer and this is a great expression. #southafricanwine — 3 years ago

Dark and supple. Taste of blackberries with mild black pepper aroma. Virtually no tannins it’s smooth to sip or pair with something light ... or even pizza. 😊 casual, unpretentious and tasty. — 5 years ago
Nose has lightly toasted brioche, recently washed lemon, lemon pith, dry limestone, pineapple core and yellow apple peel.
Palate has lime pith, squeeze of lemon juice, slight waxy notes, pulverized limestone and lingering ripe tropical fruits.
Medium finish, feeling like the concentration is coming up short, still enjoyable. 90m decant, we'll see how it evolves over the evening.
(Soured 100% from Meursault, seven separate vineyard plots.)
