“It’s spring and the little goat-footed balloonMan whistles far and wee.” - ee cummings. Far and wee indeed, with crisp saline citrus brightness mellowing with age (this is 2018 vintage). This ain’t your mama’s Muscadet, but Melon de Bourgogne it is, indeed and quite ready to embrace your oysters if you care to share. But there’s also some luxurious lemon curd coming into play here that pleases the balloonMan. — 3 years ago

This wine is exceptionally smooth and fruit forward with relatively high residual sugar. I don’t know if it’s as magical as the 2016, but I’ve also recently been spoiled by the Bevan Tench EE Oakville. $99. — 3 years ago
Good, but a bigger fan of the “EE” — 3 years ago

Thus afternoon's wine that I picked-up yesterday is the 2015 Domaine Tollot-Beaut Chorey-Les-Beaune Pinot Noir. What a beautiful wine to start the weekend off with.
I am totally loving the aromatics on this wine. There are beautiful notes of strawberry, cranberry, cherry, hibiscus, clove, mushroom, rose petal, light campfire smoke and forest floor.
On the palate there is tart cherry, cranberry, raspberry, clove, mint, spice, mushroom and an earthy forest floor.
This wine is medium to full bodied with a silky smooth mouthfeel and a mouth watering medium + acidity and medium to plus medium fine mouth coating tannins that move right into a long fresh red fruit finish. What I really love about this wine is it has a wonderful purity about it and is extremely well balanced. I hope everyone's weekend is a good one. Please stay healthy and safe and ee will get through this together. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 5 years ago

These Bevan wines have such a consistent and delicious profile…and this one was very Tench. When comparing to Bevan’s Tench and his EE, this is more along the lines of the regular Tench but amped up. There’s more grit/clay going on here at the finish.
Probably the most “floral” Tench I’ve had…dark violets and lavender, with espresso, and a mix of red, blue and black fruits. The palate is absolutely spellbinding with its rich, yet nimble profile. So much going on here. Enters with a wild blueberry, brambly blackberry note before turning quickly to dusted dark chocolate black cherries with sweet herbs and clay and even smoked meat. There’s a bit of graphite and high percentage dark cocoa tannic grip at the finish.
At 7yrs old, this is a Bevan wine that is just coming in to its own. With how powerful this is, I’d be in no rush to consume, although with how good it is now, you might as well! — 3 years ago
