Melange of citrus (grapefruit, lime, lemon in that order) and ripe melon. Limestoneyness. A refreshing and versatile Friulan white blend from Patrizia Felluga (of that famous winemaking dynasty). All stainless. With warming vintages, I’ve noticed some Friulan wines approaching hot and flabby; this one remains zesty, bright & tight. — 4 years ago
Since I’m originally a European, for some unknown reason, I always romanticized about the Kennedy dynasty. With the superb CNN series and this Time reprint, I better understand his role in shaping US and world history. The world needs more people like JFK and Bobby - god bless this United States of America 🇺🇸 — 7 years ago
I managed to shock an entire panel of very classical sommeliers with this Chilean oddity. A exuberantly aromatic, super cloudy, unfiltered, slightly fizzy blend of Muscat de Alexandria, Torontel and "Corinto" (local name for Chasselas). Like it or not winemaker Manuel Moraga (from a veritable wine dynasty) is delivering the traditional/real/old style Chileans. This is the type of wine that my grandfather, renowned local drunk, had with friends and family, particularly during our national holidays in September when the country goes into a drunken stupor. Forget Carmenères, Almavivas and Chadwicks I'm sorry. If you really want to go local while in Chile you got to try Itata, Yumbel, Guarilihue. That's where you'll find our true soul. BTW I got this one in NYC while shopping around Union Sq, how's that for contradiction!

This wine is only $20 but it’s so well made — such a vibrant blend of Syrah, cab, zin and pets — with med fruit and balance. It comes from the Martini dynasty of Napa so you can’t go wrong. — 6 years ago

This is a dynasty in Rioja. These are wines from the 1940's. These wines age for a long time. — 8 years ago

Sweet, tart and simple but in a clean and perfect way. Stewed fruits on the nose, fruit candy and fruit leather on the palate, with a full tartness. Strangely fresh even though it’s showing some interesting bottle development, with cocoa and slatey minerals. Great with sichuan from Han Dynasty. Still, it’s pricey. — 3 years ago
