Dark ruby coloration. On the nose, cherry and currant. On the palate, cherry, raspberry, anise, balsamic, with a medium- long finish. Medium body. Medium and nicely balanced tannins. — 8 days ago

Dona Santana Touriga Nacional Blend 2006

Drinks like an unfortified port. Very interesting and unique. Would definitely buy again. — 3 months ago

Bodega Akilia

Villa de San Lorenzo Palomino Dona Blanca 2017

Fresh entry-level wine from one of Bierzo’s most exciting producers, a blend of Palomino Fino and Doña Blanca from old vines rooted on slate and quartzy soils in a vineyard named Frontairo. Dry, aromas of toast and straw. Citrus, saltiness. Good acidity. — 5 months ago

Quinta Vale D. Maria ( Quinta Vale Dona Maria )

CV Curriculum Vitae Douro Red Blend 2017

Made from low yielding 90-year old vines, deep Ruby with aromas of red/black fruits and floral spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry and plum with cacao, black pepper and floral citrus. Firm tannins on a long finish ending with fruit and mineral character. Nice but needs a few years in big the bottle!! — 2 months ago

Vinha Da Francisca Douro 2013

— a month ago

Reserva Porto

Lot No. 16 - don’t know exactly what the “lot #s” mean, and the website is under construction. Vintage? But it isn’t a vintage or LBV. Predominant year in the blend? Bottled in 2018. I found this really unusual, in a good way, for a ruby port. It has a dusky, dry tannic character. But silky smooth. Reminds me of tea and raisins, and maybe dried blueberries. Really like this. — 4 months ago
