Dark wild berries, red currant, violets, cedar, dusty leather, tobacco leaf, bell pepper, lots of gravel, river rocks, hint of manure. Highly aromatic, med-full body, med + acidity, powdery tannins. Quite a classic and regal Chinon with spot-on aromatics and highly mineral-driven texture, giving the sensation of picking wild berries covered in dust and rock particles. Nice balance of vegetal/herbal and the earth/mineral components. 100% organically farmed 50-year old vines from one of the great parcels on the left bank. Very affordable to boot. — 8 years ago

Personally, my favorite sparkling ever. Liz liked it quite a bit too. Tannin/structure, even tho sparkling rose. Dry, and some peach. Very good. — 6 years ago

Classic Chinon: Wet dog fur (brettanomyces) and fresh-cut green bell peppers (pyrazines). Finishes tart and dry. "You drink it and you squint. It's not fun. Needs food." - Tim Gaiser.
I agree except for the part about it not being fun :) — 11 years ago
