Dark wild berries, red currant, violets, cedar, dusty leather, tobacco leaf, bell pepper, lots of gravel, river rocks, hint of manure. Highly aromatic, med-full body, med + acidity, powdery tannins. Quite a classic and regal Chinon with spot-on aromatics and highly mineral-driven texture, giving the sensation of picking wild berries covered in dust and rock particles. Nice balance of vegetal/herbal and the earth/mineral components. 100% organically farmed 50-year old vines from one of the great parcels on the left bank. Very affordable to boot.
