— 4 years ago
Mature Cote-Rotie from Champet from Estate fruit. Mid level color with hints of orange on the edge- resolved tannins and a smooth textured mouth coating flavors. Very good. — 6 years ago

Popped and poured; enjoyed over several hours. The 2020 Champet “Les Fils à Jo” pours a deep purple color with a magenta rim and a nearly opaque core. Medium viscosity with significant staining of the tears. On the nose, whoa…all. of. the. berries. There are also black plums with some cigar box, new leather, lavender, bacon fat and spices. On the palate, the wine is dry, medium+ tannin, medium+ acid. Confirming the notes on the nose. Finish long and super spicy with a generous helping of black pepper. Even though this is super primary, the quality is on display which makes this a fun wine to try in its youth. That being said, this is built for the long haul and to my palate, the best is yet to come. Best after 2030 and should be great well past 2045. — a year ago
Lovely Reisling. Beeswax, minerality, honey notes. A treat! — 7 years ago
Another great Champagne selection from one of my favorite shops, MCF Rare Wine. 70% Pinot Noir, 20% Chardonnay, 10% Pinot Meunier. Only 1670 cases per year. Lively acid, bubbles, texture and nuanced apple and citrus fruit under the dryness. For a very good price too. Beats many known producers with inflated price tags. — a year ago
Dark violet. Spice- and mineral-accented black and blue fruit aromas show excellent definition and pick up olive, smoky bacon and candied violet notes with air. Sappy and concentrated but energetic as well, offering palate-staining blackberry, bitter cherry and boysenberry flavors that become spicier as the wine opens up. Melds power and finesse with a sure hand and finishes impressively long and sweet, with chewy tannins building steadily. All whole clusters and 10% new oak, a combination of foudres and demi-muids. Delicious and refreshing, white fruit, limited acidity but a nice bite. Excellent to pair with seafood. — 7 years ago

Was so surprised at this one! Got it for a friend who loves Cab but is going to the Loire Valley and I wanted to show her a good expression of the reds from that region. Was delicious - easy to drink on its own or with food. Already bought a second bottle! $22. — 3 months ago
