Pur Sang Pouilly-Fumé Sauvignon Blanc 2012

Clearly a Sauvignon Blanc, which isn’t always a positive note for me, but the 12’ Pur Sang radiated such energy and clarity that made it impossible to not fall in love with. Aromas of pineapple, lemon, gooseberry, and fragrant white florals intertwined with subtle vanilla. On the palate, a delicate fruit sweetness was perfectly counterbalanced by herbal nuances and piercing, superb acidity, along with a crystalline texture and mineral backbone. Wicked wine as it is now, but it could easily spend more time on its side. — a month ago

Gevrey-Chambertin Pinot Noir 2019

Intense aromas of bright red strawberry and dark chocolate. Strawberry flavors also fill the pallet. Hints of mushroom and minerals. Medium bodied. Nice dark garnet color. Silky tannins and a very long finish. Bright and fresh. — 3 years ago

Buisson Renard Pouilly- Fumé Sauvignon Blanc 2020

All about texture. Viscous and luscious, very shy in the nose but pristine in the harmony between tight yet ripe herbal character, minerality and nutty bitterness. Long finish. Needs time to develop intensity — 4 months ago

Vieilles Vignes Sancerre Sauvignon Blanc 2018

Last bottle of the ‘18. It’s pretty much at its peak. Intense limestoney minerality balanced by just enough ripe fruit green apple/citrus pith fruit. A very subtle green herbal note in the background. Round-textured in the mouth initially, u til the intense minerality puts on its geology show-and-tell. Nice acids. A pleasant mouthful of rocks, basically. — 7 months ago
