Third red to sample from Mayo Family Winery. Dark and deep ruby red almost black. A little stinky on the nose to start, with some savory and gamey notes. Slight undertones of cassis. Lots of cherries on the palate, with a rustic twist to it. Rustic as in earthy and woody. Moderate tannins (7/10) with a good amount of acidity, not unbalanced. Moderate body with a slightly dry moderate plus finish. Drink till 2023. — 9 years ago
