Atneus Etna DOC Nerello Blend 2015

The flagship old vines bottling of this estate, it livened up an otherwise rather dull corporate holiday dinner. No detailed notes as I’m catching up on old posts but it was absolutely stunning, notably earth and mineral driven. — 5 months ago

Antè Etna DOC 2016

Mineral, saline, flinty and intense. This speaks of Carricante from volcanic soils...
Memorable indeed.

Ætneus Etna Rosso Nerello Blend 2011

I love that the vineyard is a mix of very old, middle aged and young vines. When an old one dies, they plant a young one. One of the best values in Etna Rosso. Mix of black and red fruit, little tannic, smoke and fire on the finish. — 4 months ago

Pistus Etna Rosso Nerello Mascalese 2020

Delicious year after year and great value at $23. Has a restrained dried fruit thing, cherry, raisin, very mineral and elegant. Perfect not-so-serious pizza wine. — 7 months ago

Antè Etna DOC Carricante Blend 2012

Wow. Takes me back to my Italian days. Such a combination of flavor and drinkability. Rich yet light. Blackberry and citrus peel. Tingle on the tongue. Would pair with anything from the grill or brick oven pizza. — 9 years ago
