Delicious wine. It has notes of dark chocolate and blueberries — 5 years ago
Pineau d’aunis for the win! What a beautiful wine. Berries and cracked white pepper for days. There’s great tannin and good mouthfeel. Perfect food wine. Also day two it was great out of the fridge with some chill on the patio. A little complex and earthy for day drinking but so good. Also the price point for this one is great. Interestingly I do not see a vintage. — 2 years ago
Rich and opulent. This 100pt behemoth showed off its true colors. While young it exuded everything one could hope for from this famed estate. Deep black fruit with smooth tannin structure. Cassis and pencil shavings with hints of coco. Smooth as a babies bottom. Long lingering finish. More please — 4 years ago
Still doing great after 11 years. This could easily go another 2-3 years I think. Dark purple with faint hints of oxidation starting to show up. Plum, cherry, cola, tobacco, notes of coco, cassis, and blackberry on the palate. A hint of vegetal greenness on the nose, but otherwise plum and floral notes on the nose followed by tobacco and pepper. — 5 years ago

This IS Santa Barbara County Pinot! First taste was a big burst of fruit. Not too sweet, not simple and unsophisticated, not a jammy Zin bomb, mind you. Instead, more like a zing of bright, pure, winey fruit. Remarkable and memorable. We had the 2022 vintage in a magnum bottle so perhaps that helped preserve its freshness and purity. We enjoyed this Big Mama at the Palm Restaurant in downtown LA, celebrating my daughter Rachel’s graduation from UCLA Law School. Congratulations, Rachel! — 8 months ago
