12.4% alc. On Randy Fuller’s recommendation, I got a bottle of this, paired with blackberries, marble cake baked by my 11-year old niece, and some Salt & Straw ice cream - Coava coffee & Cloudberry craque (cacao nibs). Inky purple. Blueberry and blackberry aromas and flavors, slight seed bitterness, sweet tea and elderberry cough syrup in finish. Tough to assess but we liked it. More desserts, more dessert wine. — 8 years ago

Buttery, pure citrus acidity, notes of cloudberry and fatty, raw nuts. Pure, intense wine of excellent quality. — 10 years ago
What can I say here? I can't imagine (let alone have encountered) a more stunning bottle of riesling...ok maybe if this had the complexity on the nose that another 30-50 yeaars of cellaring would bring, the sateen texture, the implosive and utterly beguiling mid-palate, savoury throughout yet mesmerizingly sweet without sugar, this has the first time Father and I ever pulled out the note 'bakeapple' aka 'cloudberry' in a wine. Piercing lemon as well, sumptuous peach and fresh cut grass resemblance haunts your nose. Simply a championship creation that almost produced tears with my mouth full. This was so young, it will age forever... — 11 years ago
Peach lemonade in the glass. A touch cloudy and gray, but delicate looks. Slightly astringent and hot on the nose. Nectarine pit, cloudberry, and a touch of acetone on the tongue. Almost orange wine like spices and spark. Surprising and lovely. Abso-frickin-ideal for pairing with briny seafood as well as something richer like a Malaysian honey BBQ chicken with mango salsa. — 7 years ago

Sentient, charming, elegant nectar, aged 8 months in oak.
Pale straw colored. Slim tears in the glass.
Complex delicate nose: Cream Brule, chrysanthemum, mix of roasted chestnuts & peanuts, alycha juice, lime peels, hawthorn blossom, even fresh cucumber with touch of wooden bark.
Refreshing acidity. Splendid balance. Medium body. Vanilla cream, unripe melon, apple/pear sorbet, medlar fruits.
Lovely long finish with catchy cloudberry and grapefruit nuances.

I don't drink a lot of berry wines I'll admit, but on a recent trip to Newfoundland I toured the Auk Island Winery, and I'm a fan now! Bakeapple berries, known as Cloudberry outside Maritime Canada, have a wonderful if slightly tart flavour, and when you add 50,000 year old iceberg water, it makes for a superb dessert or sipping wine. — 12 years ago

Convincingly aromatic, tender, fresh & smooth organic rosé made of Moschofilero with small amount of Agiorgitiko added.
Pleasant gentle peachy pink color.
Subtle aroma of rose flowers, peaches, orange peels, chrysanthemum, lingonberry + wild strawberry drink.
Delicate acidity on top of barberry, white currant, cranberry, pomelo, cloudberry scents. Light+ body tending to medium, charmingly fresh & sapid.
Barberry candy defines calming lingering finish.
Fine on its own. Also paired perch baked with vegs. — 10 years ago
A bakeapple (cloudberry) wine from Newfoundland's Auk Island Winery. Sweet and a bit tart. — 10 years ago
New and distinctive gin, botanicals from northern Quebec aboriginal sources. Who knew cloudberry was so good? This is the (good) bitter side of gin, phenomenal aromatics. Lemony-grapefruit essence. Seek this out. — 11 years ago
