Wow! So complex. Part of a foreign cinema 2014 burgundy explorer tasting. It had a wonderful earth, fruit, popcorn, creamy texture that evolved over the hour. It went great with a creamy cod and toast course. One of my favorite Chardonnay’s I’ve had. — 5 years ago
Drank it after about five other bottles on Fri before Secret Cinema. Remember thinking it is good, need to revisit. Heavy, grown up but still elegant. — 6 years ago
Heady rich and complex aromatics: cinema buttered popcorn, orange citrus oil, ripe mushroom, sweet baking spices. Rich tongue coating palate has all that plus warmed buttered and spiced nuts, sweet orange rind, candied lemon slice, lemon pie, fresh dill, ripe white nectarine, nectarine stone, wet river stone. Thankful to see a touch of green in the honeyed golden hues, because the ripe developed notes and lack of Puligny acid precision hinted at premox initially. Perhaps not a long life ahead instead, but beautiful now. — 7 years ago

I did not get to write notes on the last three wines, just scores. We had to get to Russell Hamilton.
However, I wish I had been able to write them as these were the wines I was looking forward to spending some time on.
Peter & Andrew Allan of Crystallum are the third generation of winemakers and sons of the man who pioneered Pinot Noir winemaking in the Hemel-en-Aarde which; is what drew me to the region that is about another hour plus SE of Stellenbosch and a very good area to produce Pinot Noir.

Burgundy tasting at foreign cinema. Reallly great with seafood, there was excellent acidity and some earth flavors. Really liked it but was overshadowed by the Chardonnay. — 5 years ago
It is glou glou but it wasn’t without structure! Had that special forest floor pinot noir character and of course tons of nice red fruit. Fun late night cinema wine! — 7 years ago

Barny
It runs slightly oily into the glass, golden-yellow color, the reduction on the nose is surprisingly limited for its age, it still appears incredibly fresh, then in the mouth a smoothness, tastes like pineapple/tangerine, peach with an enormous fruit body,... for 10 € it's a joke, great cinema :-) — a year ago
