Nicely aromatic, with beautiful purity & some elegance.
Much better than the regular Côtes du Rhône (quite simple) and the CdR Vielles Vignes (pure yet very fruit forward).
Beautiful pure black & red berry fruit with a touch of garrigue & a minty, spicy uplifting note.
Medium bodied on the palate with purity of fruit, fresh, juicy, slightly rustic tannins a bright acidity. The purity of fruit is pretty amazing and lifts the whole, while the underlying structure adds a bit of seriousness.
This drinks very nicely and the glass empties dangerously quickly. — 2 years ago
Delicious , cherry chocolate Smokey notes . We had at Quartorze — 5 years ago
Dry and bold with a lingering finish. Oak, tart cherries, and a hint of something that reminds me of really good olive brine. — 6 years ago

While my daughter’s dog Valtellina (or “Lena” for short) licks a plate after dinner, we’re enjoying this balanced and fragrant Southern Rhone. Lovely nose showing garrigue and iodine/olivey notes and very spicy dark berry-skin fruit. Soft and deeply fruity in the mouth, the deep flavors are low-toned and sultry. Acids are fairly low, as expected for this low-latitude warm terroir, but the balance is still quite nice, with a substantial whack of very soft tannin providing some scaffolding. Very satisfying and a good value at $27. One of the nicest Liracs I’ve had in quite a while. — 9 months ago

Still catching up from two weeks ago. Well wasn’t this quite the joy! Slightly shy upon opening, with more red fruit on the palate. Developed considerably in the glass and bottle, filling out with black fruit and a tight, beautiful tannin core. Seems in a great place right now but with years ahead of it. — 20 days ago
