Château Beau-Séjour Bécot

Saint-Émilion 1er Grand Cru Classé Red Bordeaux Blend 2023

Château Beau-Séjour Bécot 2023 – Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, BDX France 🇫🇷

Overview
A beautifully layered Right Bank blend of Merlot 76% and Cabernet Franc 24% that delivers remarkable polish and accessibility for such a young vintage while preserving depth, structure, and aging potential. Merlot brings plush fruit, texture, and mid-palate generosity, while Cabernet Franc adds lift, freshness, aromatic complexity, and linear tension. Already expressive, yet clearly built to evolve gracefully over time.

Aromas & Flavors
Ripe black cherry, plum, blackberry compote, and crushed raspberry layered with violet, graphite, subtle cocoa, cedar spice, and gentle earthy undertones. The fruit profile feels pure and vibrant, supported by refined oak integration and savory nuance.

Mouthfeel
Medium-to-full bodied with polished, finely grained tannins and excellent mid-palate density. Silky texture with controlled power, balanced acidity, and a progressive build across the palate. Long, elegant finish that remains fresh and precise rather than heavy.

Food Pairings
Roast lamb, beef tenderloin, duck breast, mushroom risotto, truffle pasta, grilled vegetables, aged Comté, and semi-firm alpine cheeses. Equally compelling with refined bistro dishes or elegant home cooking.

🍷 Personal Pick
This is exactly the kind of young Saint-Émilion that makes you smile, textured, layered, polished, and already delivering serious pleasure without needing years of patience. It feels progressive and confident, offering immediate charm today while promising even more complexity ahead. A gem that punches well above its vintage age.

Juliet Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2011

Drank without decanting. Light on the nose and a smooth sweet taste on the tongue. Fruit flavors and not intense at all. Great wine and well named! Day 2: sweet fruity smell with more of an alcohol scent. As I taste it, I still taste fruit but it is a bit more acidic. Still good overall but not the same as day 1. — 2 months ago

Romeo Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

Deep Ruby color with aromas of dark berry fruits, oak and floral notes. On the palate flavors of blackberry, cherry and plums with tobacco and herb spice. Firm grippy tannins, medium+ finish ending with fruit, oak, spice and mineral character. Ok but Juliet better! — 2 days ago

Le Clos du Beau Père

Pomerol Red Bordeaux Blend 2019

Really nice and surprisingly bright for a wine of it's type, still has nice plush fruit and soft tannins but also has elegance and clarity, it leans towards being light on the palate in a nice way — a month ago

Buisson-Charles

Vieilles Vignes Meursault Chardonnay 2022

2022 vintage. Less tied down to the traditional Meursault stylings and just going for it. Light-medium body. Moments of beauty. Moments of leanness and linear qualities. Lemon curd and (subdued) tangerine two driving forces in the flavor profile. Plenty of acidity without tippling/tipping over the edge. 10.8.25. — 4 months ago
