Château L'Esperance

Les Cedres Cotes de Bourg Red Bordeaux Blend 2015

2015 vintage. The Southafrican Jonck family produces mainly Blaye wines, but this "Les Cèdres" is their Côtes de Bourg. 100% Merlot. Ripe cherries, strawberry jam and some spiciness. Round, ripe, very charming with velvety tannins and good length. Delicious and well worth the 15 euros price tag. Abv. 14,5%. — 4 years ago

Les Cèdres Côtes du Jura Chardonnay

Round, rich and caramel-y! But with the balancing acidity that makes these jura wines shine so brightly. Loved it — 5 months ago

Château Mayne Lalande

Listrac-Médoc Cabernet Franc Blend 2014

2014 vintage. A blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30%Merlot and equal parts of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Aged 16 months in barriques (30% new). Cassis, cedar wood and a dash of clove and black pepper. Medium-bodied, with fresh fruit, tannin with a slightly rough edge, and good spicy length. Good value at 13 euros. Unfortunately owner Bernard Lartigue passed away in October 2020. His very young daughter Alice-Jeanne is now in charge. — 3 years ago

Langlois-Château

Château de Varrains Saumur-Champigny Cabernet Franc 2017

Tasted at the producer, this is a primeur / pleasure to drink young vintage. 100% Cabernet-Franc. Light purple color, clear and limpid. Raspberry and herbaceous nose. Supple mouth blending raspberry, notes of cedar, cypress.
Slightly acidity, but the typical Touraine mineral structure, reminiscent of slate, pencil lead, or charcoal, bringing a refreshing salivating tension. On salads, aperitif-dinners, cold meats, cheese pastas, it's easy to drink, and pleasant.
