Glossy and beautiful. Luscious slick fruit with rounded dark cherry and hints of dried herbs. Amazingly textured and intense. Wow — 14 days ago

Château Lafleur

Grand Village Acte 9 2016

Well it’s the Acte 8, but that’s close to 9😉 in this price range it’s for me a steal. From a winemaking dreamteam comes this great bottle full of excellent wine, full bodied and fleshy stuff. Cool tannins and a bright future, if you find it just buy it and consider yourself lucky. — a year ago

Pétrus

Pomerol Red Bordeaux Blend 1970

Tasted blind. It was evident that this was mature Bordeaux at its finest quality level from an excellent vintage. The absence of brettanyomces and a right bank aroma profile pointed towards Lafleur or Petrus. Deliciously ripe and dried red fruits mingle with black truffle, cocoa powder, forest floor and cigar box. Gently caressing the palate, the 1970 Château Petrus delivers a full-body, velvety tannins, a core of dried red fruits and a long, lingering finish. Probably slightly past it's peak, but still spectacular. Drink now. — 2 years ago

Château Lafleur du Roy

Cuvée Excellence Pomerol Red Bordeaux Blend 2015

Timothy Eustis
9.1

A really fine Pomerol. Drinking beautifully. 2016Guest returned it for being “sharp and tangy.” Well, no. It’s just great. Classic rich red fruit with nice and sure pronounced acidity. Lovely. — 2 months ago

Bernard Burgaud

Côte-Rôtie Syrah 2021

Lyle Fass
9.7

I love 21. Utterly classic but young nose of red berries, granite and a youthful grapiness. Some florals as well but a bit of a monolith aromatically out of the gates. More notes later as it opens up on the nose. Palate is so elegant my goodness and has that youthful grapiness. Huge red and darker berry fruit, perfect balance, clarity and purity. So juicy and clean but young but obviously very high quality. More notes as it evolves. Nose now closed at 3 hours but palate has gained finesse and it’s ultra juicy and pure. Finish is clipped but this is the whole package. This has a semi opulent midpalate one can get lost in. Wow. Incredible decadent Pomerol (lafleur?) fruit. Just insane. So elegant. This is the best Burgaud ever. — a year ago

Château de Grangeneuve

Sainte-Foy Côtes de Bordeaux Sauvignon Blanc Sémillon

Very pleasant Bordeaux Blanc of 90% Sauvignon and 10% Semillon. The Semillon gives it a slightly sweet taste that enhances the moderately rich wine. Paired well with poultry — 2 years ago

Clos Grangeneuve Pomerol Red Bordeaux Blend 2020

Paired with steak au poivre. Some sediment even after decanting. Wine is pepper and tobacco on the nose (no that wasn't the steak). Picked up some blackberry jam and chocolate and coffee on the nose after it opened up. Taste was jammy and peppery with a strong tannin bite. Thought it got more deep and complex as it sat. Paired really well, would drink again, wife didn't mind it despite not being a Merlot fan. — 3 months ago

Château Bellegrave

Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 2020

Delectable Wine
9.1

The 2020 Bellegrave is well-defined and poised on the nose, blackberry and briary, hints of truffle unfolding with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with a graphite-infused entry. Quite solid and structured, almost like a "mini-Lafleur", with a well-defined and persistent finish that has splendid mineralité. Very fine. (Neal Martin, Vinous, February 2023) — 2 years ago

Pensées de Lafleur

Pomerol 2012

Did not took detailed notes but this is a fresh, elegant, complex and very satisfying Pomerol. One of the best second wines of 1st growths in Bordeaux. 2012 is very much better than the vintage reputation. — 3 years ago
