Delicious and peppery — 8 years ago
Lovely medium ruby color and forward fruit on the nose. Surprisingly soft on the palate - I'd have liked more tannin and acidity but the wine is charming and enjoyable — 9 years ago
Le clos des cazaux.
Prestige 2005 — 13 years ago
The 2016 La Conseillante is a benchmark wine for the estate, perhaps the first where winemaker Marielle Cazaux really made her mark. It has a divine bouquet that halts you in your tracks with its purity. Almost Burgundian in style, black fruit intermixes with blue, just a background scent of incense - less vanillary than before. The palate is marked by svelte tannins, cashmere in texture with just a trace of white pepper. The finish has a welcome sense of edginess with hints of graphite on the aftertaste. It's just the opening chapter in what will be an awesome Pomerol. Tasted from an ex-château bottle at the Icons of Bordeaux dinner at Legacy Records in New York. (Neal Martin, Vinous, May 2024)

Great, matured Vacqueyras. Top! — 8 years ago
The nose could almost be a white wine with a hint of tropical fruits perhaps (I've maybe been drinking the South American reds too much as of late), however, a great dark fruit flavour with medium finish. Good balance. Easy to drink on it's own but I think would suit a peppered steak with salted fries (must try that...) — 10 years ago
Aged southern Rhône plateauing I think. Garique nose. Red fruits on the palate, a bit stewed. I notice rosebottle, figs and wild strawberries. Medium acidity keeps it al in balance. Tertiary flavours all around: sunburnt dirt, leather, smoke, some tobacco, forest leaves. Medium long finish. Lovely wine. — 5 years ago
