Octagon Red Bordeaux Blend 2017

This wine is very dark. It has a fragrant nose, full of blue and black fruit, flowers, cedar, green pepper, and an underlying earthiness. The palate is fruity and rich, with blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries. There is a bright acidity matched with gentle tannins. The finish is medium long and carries the fruit as a lasting memory. — 7 days ago

Chardonnay 2013

Phenomenal 12 year old Chardonnay from the best vineyard for the white grape in the state of Virginia. Amazing balance between acid and oak w/ classic lemon curd and brioche, sweet sweetness. Second day was even better. Amazing how much it opened up with air.!! — 3 months ago

Estate Bottled Cabernet Sauvignon Monticello 2018

Toasting the new (and former) President’s recent Election Victory. Deep ruby color with purple highlights. Aromas of black plum/currant/raspberry fruit with a touch of leather and smoke. Same fruits on the palate with touches of black pepper and dark chocolate. Medium finish that is a bit oaky and slightly bitter. A bit thin from a textural, tannin and mouthfeel perspective. Reasonable vintage. — 5 months ago
