Superb wine sold to us in a local wineshop in downtown Canet en Roussillon (cave Gustumo, if you happen to be around). They have mostly a local selection and the owner is passionate about local wines and especially offers a great range of local vins doux naturels (maury, Muscat de rivesaltes, banyuls...).
This one was open and the owner had us taste it along with a few other wines, including a few Muscat examples. It was a great stop in a great shop.
The nose is made of citrusy touches, cantaloupe, white peach, as well as some minerally touches like chalk and a tiny flinty thing. The palate is super well balanced, there is that tang, that citrusy thing, these fresh white peach touches, a good width and that tiny chalk touch, some nice grip and a super lovely, yet lively finish that goes on for a while. Give me that white wine over a lot of the more expensive stuff coming from many other more reputable regions. — a year ago

A beautiful magnum aged 5 years in a cellar. We find the greedy generosity of Beaujolais wines in carbon maceration, here with beautiful notes of evolution that gives it relief to the nose and mouth, notes of dried flowers and truffles. A beautiful treat. It's drunk alone and with almost everything. — 5 years ago
Always a pleasure to taste the wines of JP Brun. This purple-colored Moulin-à-Vent delivers magnificent airy notes of undergrowth, ash, accompanied by a floral burst of dry roses / peonies; Morello cherry, blackberries. The mouth is very fine. silky tannins testify to a great mastery of winemaking. 2017 vintage begins to « pinote » wonderfully and will win again with a few years in the cellar (for those who enjoy Burdundy style). Reference!
— 6 years ago
L’Étincelle – Sauvignon Blanc – 2023
Sancerre AOP · Loire Valley · France 🇫🇷
Overview
A lively and textbook Sancerre showcasing the purity and finesse of Sauvignon Blanc grown on Loire Valley limestone soils. Clean, crisp and unmistakably mineral-driven.
Aromas & Flavors
Bright lemon peel, green apple, white grapefruit and subtle gooseberry, wrapped in flinty minerality and fresh herbs.
Mouthfeel
Zesty and refreshing with razor-clean acidity. Light, vibrant and precise, finishing with a chalky, mouthwatering snap.
Food Pairings
Perfect with goat cheese (especially Crottin de Chavignol), oysters, sushi, ceviche, grilled shrimp or simple salads with citrus dressing.
Verdict
A refreshing, no-nonsense Sancerre that nails the classic profile: citrusy, crisp, and mineral to its core. A fantastic everyday Loire pick.
Did You Know?
Sancerre’s signature minerality comes from its unique “terres blanches” and “caillottes” limestone soils, among the coolest Sauvignon Blanc terroirs in the world. — 7 months ago

Second tasting and still as much pleasure. Deep ruby color, with a beautiful shine. The nose is greedy, on the fruits, between juice and jam, black cherry, plum, blackberries, strawberry. Spicy and roasted notes typical of southern wines, chocolate, pepper, thyme and aromates, smoky touch. The mouth is soft, beautiful texture. Greedy and balanced with volume and flexibility. The 15 degrees are absolutely not felt. Nice finish on black fruits and licorice. To have in his cellar absolutely.
— 4 years ago

First day of opening of the Terrasses in France, and I find this beautiful Morgon a la carte restaurant. (Luck!) What more to say than the comments do not already say? It is a superb wine, both young and with a few years in Cave. Jean Foillard produces remarkable wines at reasonable prices. I love it!
J’adore ! — 5 years ago
Gamaret, a rare grape from Switzerland🇨🇭 . A descendant of Gamay, it shares a certain lightness with it, and this peppery freshness. Here the color is dark ruby, dense. With a delicious acidity linked to the thermal amplitude, we have here notes of crunchy red / black fruits. Typical aging of Swiss wines: woody but not oak. Cloves, caramel, liquorice, Fruit / tannin balance. Pleasant with salads, vegetarian dishes, cheeses / cold cuts, fish, white meats. The only question remains the price which remains high compared to neighboring countries: Italy, France for this level of quality, (30/40% more expensive at least)
