2004 vintage. Last tasted 03.01.25 (9.6). Another decade beckons. Beautiful acidity and balance. Light-medium body. Exquisite color. Slightly metallic/copper flavor with decaying rose petals. At the top of the bell curve currently. Phenomenal. 04.04.25. — 14 days ago
#AgedWineTuesday
Dark copper in color.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity, and small bubbles.
Dry on the palate with nice complexity and a soft mouth feel.
Showing raspberries, lemons, apples, cherries, brioche, light earth, herbs, light yeast and white pepper.
Long finish with tangy raspberries.
This is a delicious Rosé Champagne with some nice age. This 19-year-old is drinking beautifully now. Elegant and rich with tiny bubbles.
A little tight right out of the bottle, and needs time to show the complexity, especially on the nose. Easy drinking and needs 30 minutes in the decanter to open up properly.
Drinking at its peak now, and will continue to drink nicely in the next 5 to 10 years.

The only Champagne in their flight. First time having this producer.
It has gentle, micro bubbles. Soft mousse. Again, a touch sweet. At least for me. Seems more than 9g. It is interesting to me that with all of France’s rather strict wines laws, I have seen extra brut over 6g & brut over 9g.
Full cherries to kirsch quality, strawberries, pomegranate and raspberries. Gentle dry herbal notes, moist, crumbled chalk & limestone, yeast notes, some white spice, sea fossil/spray, crumbled grey volcanics, pink & red roses, pleasant round acidity, nicely polished finish that is more fruit than earth as it sets and lasts 45 seconds to a minute. — 9 days ago
“Palate cleanser” of chocolate croissant nose and raspberry apricot sourdough mouth. — 20 days ago
Vivid pinkish-salmon hue with a fine stream of bubbles. Notes of strawberry, citrus peel, green apple, and brioche. Crisp acidity, a creamy mousse, and perfectly balanced dosage. Refreshing, elegant, and succulent, with a long, zesty finish. — 3 months ago
2004 vintage. This was a highlight reel. Acidity, dirty, pretty, fabulous mousse, delicate, concentrated, fruit, long finish. It had it all at some point in the tasting experience. Looks to go long in this state…at least another 7-8 years (till 2033) without any noticeable dropoff. Can’t remember the last time I had a better rosé brut. Magical. 03.01.25. — 2 months ago
The label was in absolute tatters but all other signs appeared to be good with this bottle. Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 1990 Grand Année Rosé pours a deep coral color with very little mousse that dissipates in the glass quickly. On the nose, this was funky initially so we tossed it in the decanter which freshened it up. After 30min, it was positively singing! Desiccated strawberry, crème brûlée, pink flowers, and fino sherry. On the palate, the wine is dry with high acid. This showed remarkable power which was so impressive. I can’t say I’ve ever had a Rosé with quite this amount of age but boy did it ever work. If anyone has any of these laying around; I might suggest giving it a splash in the decanter for 30min first. Drink now. — 2 months ago
