Castillo Ygay Gran Reserva Especial Rioja Tempranillo Blend 2011

This Marques de Murrieta Gran Reserva is temporanillo led blend cherry pie like taste and a long finish. Beautiful wine just entering a nice long drinking window. — 4 days ago

Castillo Ygay Gran Reserva Especial Rioja Viura 1986

For me it is “all that “. Like a fresh Selosse without bubbles.
Sensory overload on the nose and palate. The level of freshness at this stage is amazing. A little of everything, oxidative, salinity , orchard fruit, subtle wood , that makes this a true sum of the parts wine. Acid for days .3 dimensional in the mouth with a never ending finish. The food match of the day with lobster and morels.

Marqués de Murrieta

Castillo Ygay Gran Reserva Rioja Tempranillo Blend 2011

Still youthful and sassy, both elegant and powerful. Time will balance this nectar and will drink well for another 20 years. Blend dominated by tempraniilo (85%) . Thus Ygay is on a roll! — 5 months ago

Castillo de Monseran

Cariñena Garnacha

Picked up 8 cases. At 5.85 CAD a great bargain for a nice rose. A lovely Grenache for the Summer, but full flavoured enough to enjoy year round. A great second bottle after a nice Chardonnay with Thanksgiving turkey. — 2 years ago

Marqués de Murrieta

Castillo Ygay Reserva Especial Rioja Tempranillo Blend 2018

Blend of 86% Tempranillo, 8% Graciano, 4% Mazuelo (Cariñena) and 2% Garnacha, grapes and various plots fermented separately, aged for 20 months in American oak, then blended. Deep Ruby color with aromas of ripe black fruits and floral spice notes. On the palate flavors of cherry, blackberry and plum with notes of leather, vanilla and oaky notes. Fine tannins, long finish, lively acidity ending with fruit, sweet oak and spice. Nice! ‘17 a bit better! — 2 months ago
