Casa Castillo (Julia Roche E Hijos)
Pie Franco Jumilla Monastrell
From taste: rich brambly cherry liqueur, pine needles and peonies, fresh despite 15% alc, reminds me of barolo...great energy in mouth, quite layered and fragranced. Fine silky tannin, not a lot of acidity incidentally, though finishes quite long and fresh. Alcohol doesn't detract, another fine taste!

Delicate and refined. Not what I am use to with wines from Jumilla. However, age has likely mellowed this one out. Slightly past it’s prime perhaps, but reminds me of a nice Barolo.
