During the Renaissance, the property was controlled by the Medici family, after several marriages it’s now controlled by the Contini Bonacossi family since early 20th century and is run by the Bonacossi’s; Filippo, Bernadetta & Beatrice. I met Beatrice at a private tasting. Deep Ruby, very ripe aromas of fruit & spice. Cherry/Raspberry & sweet spice, earthy tones & cacao, complex. Aged developed tannins, lingering, shows deep earthy tones, perfect now, at the end of its aging potential. Very Nice!! — 6 years ago

So smooth, and fresh tasting! — 7 years ago
Smooth, silky. The grapes are hand culled for several months. One of the best dessert wines I have ever tasted. — 8 years ago

Good legs. Hint of dryness that cuts the richness. — 5 months ago
The environment always lift the tasting. Strawberries abound. Stellar acidity which frames the wine well. Depth and a touch of texture complete the ensemble. — 7 years ago

Enjoy this wine. Full bodied, very dry. Lots of dark fruit, tobacco. Paired well with pasta in a red sauce but would be great on its own as well. — a month ago
