Heady nose with cassis and licorice. Hint of mint. Flavor is very dry and pretty chewy. Complex savory components. Plenty of tannin. Deep mocha, cherry compote, and plenty more licorice on the finish. Mint or basil too. (Something herbal). Also tastes like a wet stone smells; rocky or petrichor (is the earthy scent produced when rain falls on dry soil). — 7 years ago
Cedar and black cherry and yummy w nice tannin — 8 years ago
Nice funky mushroom nose. Herbs and savory stuff. Flavor is balanced. Fruit is in the background. Lots of funky, savory stuff. — 7 years ago
Great bottle. Small production. Grenache is heavy and brings the great flavors associated. Slight Syrah so the spice is complemented well with the Grenache. — 7 years ago

Another bottle of this. Also Non-Vintage, but I’ve had around about a year or two. Lovely dark color. Smells dense and wine-y. Hint of fresh cut branches in a wood chipper and damp loamy soil. Flavors are dry, savory and interesting. Slightest bit of tamari soy sauce or Worcestershire to match the berries and musky chocolate-y stuff. This isn’t probably a Cab for the standard CA Cab crowd, but it’s strangeness is intriguing and unique. — a year ago
