Domaine Tempier

Bandol Rosé Blend 2020

A rosé that will rock your socks off from the legendary producer Domaine Tempier,
Brilliant wine from start to finish. Vivid nose with fresh red berries and a zesty, grape-like bitterness, orange blossom and a whole bunch of fresh herbs over a canvas of wet stones.
Fresh and bright palate with a stoney , mineral nerve that cuts through the pronounced fruit concetration and the slight creamy viscosotiy, a layered complexity through a long stimulating finish.
As good as the legend goes, unfortunaltely a challenge to get your hands on.

Brut 1er Cru Blanc de Blancs

Beautiful and straightforward BdBs. Lemon, cream soda, honey, oil - all on the canvas made of ripe pear and apple. Not complex but quaffable thanks to almost perfect balance, higher acidity and a long aftertaste. Consistently good.

Date of dégorgemenent: 16 March 2021.

Westhofener Trocken Riesling 2019

Sneak peaking on Wittmanns 2019 for the Morstein launching on thursday. There is no doubt that the German Rieslings remains one of the under priced gems of the wine world.
The Westhofener presents a pronounced intense nose, youthful but complex and nuanced aromas, well defined characters that is playing in several clusters. Lemon zest, white pears and plum juice followed by ginger and a prominent wet stone minerality over a savoury and salty canvas. A cut through acidity drives the palate through an intense fruit profile and a solid finish.

Paired with pan fried Salomon filet, creamed cabbage and a soy and brown butter vinaigrette with plenty of lemon juice.

Cuvée Spéciale Bandol Mourvedre Blend 2018

A little monster in an elegant suit, unleashed with plenty of complexity luring underneath.
Dense and concentrated aromas, youthful and unleashed but without any hard or offensive edges. Primary dark fruit with black plums and cassis, followed by blueberries and a refreshing orange-like character. A savory complexity with earth, cold meat. Plenty of savoury spice that evolves into fresh herbs and lavender with aeration.
Palate is dry with a high acidity, high dry tannins is keeping the pace but is well balanced by a backbeat of a generous of dark fruit canvas, strong and dimensional mid palate with and a long finish where the tannins still regins supremes and close it all up. 9,4
75% Mourverde, Grenache, Cinasult and Syrah,. elevage for 18 months in large casks.

Gattinara Nebbiolo 2015

Pop n pour., Quick note: Perfumed, vivid nuanced red fruit, camphor and mint over a savoury earthy canvas
Fresh acidity and pronounced, yet approachable tannins with a powdery texture that surrounds a concentrated fruit intensity with a long and expansive finish. A little marvel, a bargain. So approachable today yet will age forever.
