The holidays put us in the mood for something delicious, vibrant, and festive. Something bubbly. Tonight, to match the mood, we’re popping this gorgeous pale pink-salmon Crémant d’Alsace produced by Domaine Camille Braun.
It is a rosé from Alsace made with 100% Pinot Noir, the only permitted black grape variety in this region. It comes from organic and biodynamic vineyards in and around the Village of Orschwihr.
Domaine Camille Braun is a family-run operation with roots dating back to the 1500s. Today Christophe and Chantal – a husband and wife team – are carrying forward the family legacy by making expressive wines from the beautiful terroir of Alsace.
This wine offers bright notes of raspberry, cranberry, red apple, lemon curd, dried pink rose, toasted almond, brioche, and wet stones with fine-beaded, persistent bubbles.

Had this over a year ago, this is a new batch, a Fav! Rodolphe Péters took over the reins of this venerable estate in the southern Côte des Blancs in 2008, becoming the fourth generation to lead since the estate was founded in 1919, under the name Camille Péters. 100% Chardonnay, Crisp, fine mousse with steady flow of bubbles. Citrus, and biscuit aromas. Fresh fruit flavors of peach, apples and lemons, smooth and dry. Long mineral finish ending with elegance. Nice! — 7 years ago
Nose has plum peel, ripe crushed raspberry, dehydrated strawberry, cold hotel biscuits, fresh almonds and distant dried grapefruit rind.
Palate has dried raspberries, ripe red currant, dried tangerine, dried strawberries and moist chalk with medium finish.
We have all sorts of odd bottles in our cellar, many single, experimental iterations such a this. Not in the least disappointed for this showing today.

Beautiful. Not rustic. Harmonious. — 5 years ago
In a delicious spot, walking the tightrope of meat/beef bullion, while still having great fruit. Shy at first, then a great drink until it started to fade a bit. — 6 years ago
Fresh, toasty, strawberries. Fine bubbles and good acidity. Exactly what I want from a straightforward, delicious sparkling rosé. Bought from Martin Wine Cellar. — 6 years ago

Vif et droit, finale sûrette. A mis un peu de temps à s'ouvrir. Un peu austère. Tout de même bon. — 6 years ago
