Blue Owl Brewing

Mollydooker

Blue Eyed Boy Shiraz 2017

Had a couple of these “Blue Boys” in my cellar. Mollydooker (Aussie for left-hander) Wines was established in 2005 by Sarah and Sparky Marquis. Dark Ruby with big dark berry fruit nose adding sweet spice and cedar. On the palate this wine has complex flavors of blackberry and blueberry with cacao, oak and vanilla. Fine dusty tight tannins, peasant mouthfeel, full-bodied, long ending with a nice spicy finish. Aging well, good now, has room to run. — 9 days ago

WALT Wines

Blue Jay Anderson Valley Pinot Noir 2018

Good depth of flavor and great structure make this wine appealing and complete. Smoky aromas of clove, cedar and black pepper lead to concentrated and rich black-cherry and red-cherry flavors on a moderately tannic texture. — a month ago

Kerloo Cellars

Blue Mountain Vineyard Syrah 2014

This is very “old world” in style and feel. Nose has smoke-tinged crushed rock dust, high-pitched tangy boysenberry fruit, and a mossy forest floor note. Relatively lean in style, it’s got jolting acids and good tannic scaffolding, and some dark fruit and savory notes in the close. I feel like this one could last quite a few more years. Reminds me of those VDP Syrahs that many of the best Cote Rotie growers produce. — a month ago

Dry, good acidity which is a little unusual for a Riesling. Good weight, bright color, this wine is delicious! — 14 days ago

Clos Saron

Kind of Blue Sierra Foothills Syrah 2016

There is so much silly wine around today. Silly people acting like they make good wine, silly talking points, silly everything. Silliness is worse then anything; worse then VA, mouse, corked wine, literally every fault. Let’s just say in 2021, let’s just not make silly stuff. Or even begin to cover it up by saying silly things when you speak. When you make a wine or whatever you make silliness does not exist. Because what you make if it’s silly is bullshit. And it’s time someone called you out. Call me out if indeed I made something silly; but for god sakes, let’s start being real again. Id like to dedicate this rant to early 90s hip hop. Shit was real then. They’d call you out instantly. #kindofbluewhenitcomestoratings — a month ago
