Benoist Rey

Robledo Family Winery

El Rey Red Hills Lake County Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

Ruby in color with medium intensity and a reddish rim.

Very pretty nose of sweet red and black fruits, cedar, licorice, tobacco, chocolates, coffee, light cola and spices.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity and fat legs.

Dry and very fruity on the palate with black currants, black plums, cooked cherries, spices, oak, tobacco, licorice, light herbs and peppercorn.

Tangy finish with soft tannins and cranberries.

This is a very tasty Cabernet Sauvignon from Lake County in California. Spicy and tangy. Showing an elegant mouthfeel with nice complexity.

Easy drinking and good right out of the bottle, but a little hot at the back of the throat.

I had this vintage 4 years ago and it was better then, so drink up.

Good by itself or with food. I paired it with hard cheeses and crackers.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

91 points.

Benoist Ranch Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir

Good Pinot but overall it fell a bit flat for me compared to other CSJ Pinots. Definitely preferred the Durell Pinot over this one. This one lacked the structure and body I was hoping for — 2 months ago

Estate Grown Grace Benoist Ranch Chardonnay 2011

Fantastic showing. Hazelnut, ginger, pineapple and toast, brilliant balance. Impeccable midpalate followed by a persistent finish with brioche, orange blossom and whipped cream with lemony notes. At its peak. — 3 years ago
