Ben Ryé Passito di Pantelleria Zibibbo 2022

Tasted on Saturday, February 15, 2025: A bold and sweet brandy-like taste with a rich sweetness reminiscent of dried grapes. — 3 months ago

Bracken Vineyard Chardonnay 2022

It would have been easy to review this when I tasted it and just give it a 10, drinking it in such an idyllic setting in the middle of the vineyard under some trees with the wine maker, but I waited a few days and this is still the wine I think about from the weekend. There wasn’t any to buy, but next vintage is getting a case buy without even tasting jt. Just extraordinary Eola-Amity Hills Chardonnay. — 9 months ago

Schild Estate

Ben Schild Reserve Single Vineyard Shiraz 2015

Warm and toasty with a bit of a back of the throat cayenne pinch. It’ll week on the structure but good juice and warm round fruit flavors. Good vanilla and some baking spices as well. Big and brassy, hot as in the alcohol coming off of this thing is noticeable. — 4 years ago

Bracken Vineyard Pinot Noir 2022

Showing a fair bit of wood and ripeness but not out of balance, I think it suffered from being next to the 2010 Patty Green Notorious. — 3 months ago

Ben Ami

Galil Merlot 2020

Wine is good. Fairly dry for a merlot. Definitely a bit more of a peppery aroma with the cocoa, tobacco and dried red fruit notes. Had with beef shawarma, very tasty with food and on its own. — a year ago

Curly Flat

Pinot Noir 2013

We last had a bottle on 11th July 2020 and this time it showed better. Red savoury fruits mainly cherry and a plum skin note. Still with that burnt bracken note which is not unattractive. On the palate like Bass Phillip but more succulent. The Macedon Ranges just north of Melbourne is a proven good area for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay - a neighbour being the highly credentialed Bindi Wines. — 4 years ago
