Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of several hours. The 2023 “San Bartolomeo” pours a deep ruby color with a transparent core; medium viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. This really needed air and showed better after an hour+ of being open. What unfurled was an elegant and quite beautiful expression of Dolcetto showing notes of fresh black berries, blueberries, purple flowers with the stems, a mix of dried herbs and warm spices with dry gravelly earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium acid. Confirming the notes from the nose, the finish is medium+ and slightly savory. A precise and technically brilliant Dolcetto. Drink now through 2030. Thanks for the assist @Lyle Fass — 7 months ago

Initially too light, but after breathing this became a spectacular red … complex, full and long flavor, with a nice bite and not too tannic. Tasted 16 January 2022 — 4 years ago

Okay this is awesome. Old school. Cigar, Cuban tobacco, chestnut, tar, dead roses, so so so Nebbiolo. The high toned aromas are just stunning. Really wafts. It’s old school but super clean. Pop and pour and the aromas just kill! Wow. Wow. Palate is just gorgeous. Astonishing purity and freshness and oodles of mid season ripe cherries and wonderful opulence. Superb juiciness. Like 10/10 juiciness. Lovely velvety tannins and such a long juicy finish. So so pure. This is a freakshow. — 6 years ago

At Pino hosted tasting with winery reps. 50/50 Cabernet Sangiovese interesting nose and profile that’s between New and old world. Will age nicely. Drinking nicely now. Interesting — 4 months ago
I think this is their reserve Syrah.
Hot, red fruit raisins. Dusty, citrus.

Lovely smooth Barolo. Nice red berry notes with a bit of darker undertones. Very smooth and very drinkable. Bought at the co-operative — 4 years ago
Great wine. The reviews from 2014 do not matter. Who drinks Barolo after five years. Wine is now complex, leather tobacco, great tannins and body. Pleasant long finish. Great wine! — 6 years ago
