This is in a tie for the best Portuguese dry red with Pera Manca and Barca Velha. Very classical register, no new wood you can detect. Rich, bold, but complex and profound. Its in its infancy, we decanted an hour before. Its all good here and a wine we wish we had more bottles. Great stuff !!! — 4 years ago
One of the better years I have had of this wine. It is the second wine if Quinta Do Vale Meão, which contributed a lot of its grapes to Barca Velha in its history. 13 years later, it still has vibrant fruit, but is also developing secondary qualities as well. Can equally be enjoyed with a steak as with a meat pizza, as I did. — 5 years ago

Light, rust colored; some bright fruit, light tannins, and pure cherry fruit. Quite quaffable! Went well with orecchiette, sausage and rapa. I do love Valtellina neb. North meets South with this dinner. — 4 months ago
