@Adam Wills didn't see this until now. How long are you in town for?
Liked this a lot! Unclear what grapes but it had a smoky - peppery vibe, like petit Syrah. Super light and easy to drink too and paired well with a pork pasta and dry aged steak at Russ and daughters for Christy’s Bach. $100 at the resto — 3 years ago

Full-bodied, with plums and sour cherries on the palate. Tannins carry the flavors, but the acid is not forward. — 6 years ago
Smooth fresh clean taste with almost a sweetness to it but dry, good body light syrupy feel — 7 years ago

Light smoke. Red and black fruit. High acidity and brightness. Delightful. A story buyers notes: Santa Maddalena Classico is its own DOC in the heart of Bolzano. By law the wine must be 90% Schiava (aka Trollinger) and 10% Lagrein. This combination works to add a touch of richness and body to the normally bright and aromatic schiava. The vineyard is a large slope scaling from 250 meters to 500 meters, with the Lagrein grown on the lower portion of the hill. These are old vines averaging between 40-50 years old. A deeply green Loire Chenin. Laser precise, electric, and acute. I love Becky Wasserman’s take: “punk rock violence, yet of Bach-like logic and profoundness.”
Aromas are subtle. Baked lemon, flint, chalk, baking spice, a whiff of smoke. Flavors of star fruit, kumquat, passion fruit, lime, and Meyer lemon.
Table melting acid. — 8 years ago
At Gjelina for Ilana's bach. Really delish. Easy to drink. A bit bubbly. Hint of vanilla. Yum — 9 years ago

I keep coming back to this one. Had it with a spicy chicken and broccoli stir-fry while listening to a live recording of Radu Lupu playing a Bach prelude & fugue (BWV 867). Each made the others more enjoyable. — 2 years ago
