Maybe held I bit longer than advisable, but still full of life. — a year ago
Typical CdR blend of Grenache, Syrah & Carignan with a dash of Cinsault, gives the typical fruit forward flavors (raspberries, blackberries, plums) yet in a very light, airy & crunchy manner - more of a gothic cathedral than a baroque palace.
On the palate this is also airy & light, with fresh crunchy fruit (Black fruit again, with a touch of olive), good quality, juicy tannins and a mineral backbone. Weightless almost, and this despite 14.5% alc!
A beauty!

Opened another recently, legendary wine, said that in the 18th century was introduced to Sultan of Constantinople's palace b/c of its clarity and called "mineral water from Carbonnieux", defying Islamic law. Pale lemon with pronounce aromas of tropical and stone fruits with herb notes. On the palate flavors of melon, mango, apple, green herbs and a crisp mineral edge. Medium+ length, balanced acidity, ending with a fruit, citrus mineral character. Nice, aging well. — 3 years ago

Was excited to find this on the list at Commander’s Palace. Rayas is out of my price range so it’s nice to get to experience something else with the Reynaud family treatment. Needed about an hour to open up. Bright fruit and garrigue with a good amount of pyrazines — 3 years ago
